New Zealander Survival Sheath - enter to win a firesteel rod
The New Zealander Survival Sheath is a custom KYDEX sheath built for survival and tested in New Zealand's rugged terrain for the Becker BK2 and the KABAR Johnson Adventure Piggyback knife. A couple years ago Peter Hitchman, New Zealand survival expert of You vs. Wild and NZ Guided Nature Walks, had Matt make this sheath for especially rugged, hard use. Since then, this set up has become one of the most requested sheaths we have made. Do check out Peter's guided adventures. This is definitely on our family's list Some Day Adventure list!
This isn't just our normal piggyback sheath. Here's some of the differences:
A Becker BK2 and KA-BAR Johnson Adventure Piggyback knife are piggybacked together with a 3/8" x4" firesteel and a Lansky Tactical Sharpening Rod mounted on the sides. The 3/8" firesteel rod and the Lansky Tactical Sharpening Rod are included. The attachments for the firesteel rod and the sharpening rod are moveable so you can place them in the exact position you need. For example, both attachments can be placed on the BK2 sheath or the sharpening rod attachment can be mounted to the BK2 and the firesteel rod attachment can be mounted to the piggybacked sheath in front of the sharpening rod (see picture for more details).
The back of the sheath and the KYDEX belt clip are made of the thickest KYDEX®.125 for the greatest durability. The front of the BK2 and the Piggyback sheath are made of .093" thick KYDEX®. No matter what color is chosen for the front of the sheath the back will be made in BLACK ONLY. Camo patterns only come in .080" thick KYDEX®

(Though the knives are available for purchase upon request, they will not be on sale. Only the sheath as is on our website.)
Today's giveaway is for a 5/16" x 3.2" Ferrocerium Firesteel Rod and a side-mounting sheath attachment. A KYDEX® band around the top and a shock cord loop to wrap around the sheath attachment will hold the firesteel securely to your sheath as it wears down. The hole spacing on the attachment is 1 1/2" to fit the standard hole spacing on sheaths.
Make sure to enter the other giveaways we have going on as well. Each of the giveaways will be open through 11:59pm on Sunday.
